How Changes and Plans in Osceola County Will Impact the Lake Nona Market - Don Fisher, Osceola County Manager, will provide the latest news and plans from Osceola County that are or will affect the Lake Nona Region. Topics of interest include the new Tavistock Sunbridge development on the borders of Lake Nona and Osceola County, the regional impact of NEO City, and Orange and Osceola Counties shared transportation corridors. This discussion will include the possible creation of an Osceola County transportation tax and the effect it may have on traffic patterns within Northern Osceola and Southern Orange Counties.
Don Fisher is the Osceola County Manager, serving since 2010. His position functions as the CEO in one of the fastest growing counties in the U.S., presiding over a $1 billion budget and 1,450 employees.
Prior to this, he served as the County’s Growth Management Administrator. Don has over thirty years of local government experience including twenty-one years at Seminole County.
In 1998, Don graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida.
Don is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), Florida Association of Counties (FAC), Florida City and County Management Association (FCCMA), the National Association of County Administrators (NACA), the Experience Kissimmee Board of Directors and he also serves on the International Consortium for Advanced Manufacturing Research (ICAMR) Board of Directors.
In 2003, he earned Seminole County’s “Good Government Award”, in 2011 he earned St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce’s “Good Government Award”, he was honored as Orlando Business Journal's 2016 CEOs of the Year, and just recently, he was honored as a “2017 i4 Business Leader of the Year”.
